Few of us are left untouched by cancer, whether in ourselves or a loved one. Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women after skin cancers? The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 40,000 women will die of breast cancer in 2017. Early detection is one of the most important ways to decrease that number.

Know how your breasts normally look and feel. The most common symptom of breast cancer is a new lump or mass, most likely but not necessarily painless and hard with irregular edges. Other symptoms include swelling, skin irritation, breast pain, nipple retraction, redness, scaliness, thickening of breast skin, or nipple discharge.

It is also vital to have regular mammograms and other screening tests. That’s where we want to help! Charlotte Radiology says “Women are busy by nature, and the primary reason working women delay mammograms is because they do not want to take time away from work”. We hope that our convenient location in the Blakeney Shopping Center will make it easier for women like you to take the step and schedule their mammogram. Don’t delay – appointment slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis!
